Docs won't give meds

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The doctor I saw was most interested in telling me what she would not do for me rather than what she would. Wouldn't even treat the rash I came in for - Go see a specialist. What an awful experience!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Receptionist was very poor and couldn't do her job at all. Then the nurse had an attitude against me.

Then i see the doctor and she says right away that i should be dead. Then the doctor starts argueing with me and wouldn't listen to me called me names then started say i wouldn't listen to any other doctors and she doesn't know my history. Then she says to me that i am not listening and i am not doing doing what my specialist doctor is saying. In which i am trying to do my best and working on things.

Then next Lynda L Hulst throws the computer at me and just about brakes the computer off the wall argueing with me and she got belligerent with me and throws papers at me and ink pens at me and i never seen anything that she was showing me. Then she said to me Mr. *** are you going to listen to me then she said what are you here for and what do you need done. I said i need refills on medicine and i told her my medication and she said are you sure.

Then she said you should be insulin. I told her i can keep it under control. I told her that i drive truck. Then she said you shouldn't even be driving truck at all.

Then she said i will see what i can do meaning i trying to pull my Medical card away from me. which i think is wrong. Then she said that i need to do blood work by 11/12/2022. I felt uncomfortable and threatened and wanting to leave this doctor.

I feel that this doctor needs to not have a license anymore or find me a differant doctor. Because if i have to keep seeing this doctor i will file a lawsuit against spectrum health about this doctors office.

Then after seeing this doctor I read the reviews and they are all bad and i feel shes unrepectful and only wants to argue with everyone she sees. So if i have to see her again i will file a report with the police and courts.

Mammogram results letter

I was a self-referral to Betty Ford Breast Care Center at Midtowne on April 5, 2022. I have no complaints about the staff at Midtowne.

They were friendly and professional. I was told I could see my results on My Chart, and that I would get a results letter in 7-10 days. I did see my results on My Chart; however, I always await the letter. No letter as yet.

I called to inquire about it, thinking it was lost in the mail. The person I talked with was rude, and it seemed to me that I was bothering her. She informed me that my doctor would send a letter. I informed her that I have been to Betty Ford Breast Care Services every year for many years and my doctor has never sent a letter and I always received my letter from Spectrum Health Betty Ford Breast Care Services.

She again said, "Your doctor will send a letter." At this point, I said "thank you and goodbye." To say the least, I expected some type of explanation as to why the results letter process has changed. Too much to ask??

Violation by Spectrum

The nursing staff did not contact me for my appointment with the Dr. My phone records prove such.

The nurses have bullied, called me names, dropped my dose from 99 mg to 41 mg in one day. Now they refuse to let me speak to the Dr. My counselor has not returned my calls and did not show up for my therapy session. They pick and choose when to charge me a copay.

Come to find out, they have been charging me and my insurance illegally as the service the claim are services I have never received. They violate my hippa rights and many other patients as well. They are playing God with my life and assume they will get away with it.

Furthermore, they cover for each other and lie for even the "patient advocate" Michelle. Michelle is no advocate for patients, she is the master of covering up the clinic's illegal actions.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product or service ordered.

Updated by user Nov 17, 2020

EDIT:It took more than a month, several emails and phone calls, complaints to the State of Michigan Department of Civil Rights and two other state agencies, but I finally received my test.Spectrum admitted that they made the mistake and should have seen me the first...

Original review Oct 13, 2020
Kelsey hospital in Lakeview Mi. (Spectrum Health) refused to register me for my appt.

or perform a scan on me because I was unable medically to wear a mask.
I told a nurse and then a supervisor that my doctor would concur.
They expected me to stand in the waiting room in front of others and tell my medical conditions.
They had no respect for me or for the law and refused me because I have a non contagious medical condition.

In other words, they discriminated because of my disability. They told me it was Spectrum Health's "policy".
This hospital has been good in the past but today they blew it.
I drove many miles round trip for nothing, and I left untreated.

Botched plastic Surgury

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had my breast reduction at Spectrum Health Surgical Center on Michigan in Grand Rapids, MI. I wouldn't recommend that anyone have breast reduction surgery here. They botched my breast and are refusing to correct the error. I was told that they have to make the correction on the breast that wasn't botched and that doesn't make common sense. I guess they are refusing to make the correction on the botched breast. The issue hasn't been resolved and I requested to see a different doctor ,and they refused me. I wouldn't recommend anyone go to this place or you will be sorry.

The doctors are great but they have the very worst billing system in the world

they insist on billing in the pa's name instead of doctors name and they know the ins. will NOT except that as a primary care . so every visit I get billed for specialist visit at a much higher rate . the last one I have been fighting for a year and they have no record I filed a complaint so now I have to start all over . I am now looking for a doctor outside of spectrum health

Beware overpricing Collusion with Priority Health to bilk patients

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I needed an MRI, tried to find out the cost of the procedure on the Cost Estimator at Priority Health (owned by Spectrum) but it was down, and hasn't worked every time after that that I've tried to use it. Had an independent benefits manager try to log on with her pw, no luck. Called Priority Health customer service and the Cost estimator was down for her as well. So much for transparency. The Spectrum bill was almost 3,000 including contrast lab charge, and although they are the same company as Priority health, they do not 'follow' the prices on the cost estimator -had I even been able to get a price. So I went on healthcarebluebook.com and found out that a fair price (in my zipcode) is less that half what Spectrum billed. When I asked for an adjustment, Spectrum told me their charge was reasonable "because Priority Health didn't dispute it" and honored the claim. Of course Priority approved it, it's their Hospital and they only have to pay $300 of it, leaving me with the $1877.00 deductible. I'm getting my follow-up MRI in Flint, MI at a cost of $400 at Regional Medical Imaging. Stay away from the Spectrum-Priority exorbitant price scam.

Spectrum sucks they told me to go to the health dept

I am one of many people (looking at you baby boomers) who only got one measles shot. I called me spectrum internist today to find out if I needed the 2nd shot. I do,they don’t carry it. In order to get inoculated I need to make a separate appointment w the health dept and they don’t work with priority health (the largest health care provider in Kent County). So instead of being able to do my annual checkup and get inoculated I will have to take a 2nd day off of work. Or skip it all together and hope I don’t get sick. Which if I do will cost me and priority a lot more then if they did the right thing from the beginning.

Patient Care

My 89 year old mother who lives in a town. There is a Spectrum facility that is a few miles from her home. She needed to have an X Ray of her back. Mind you she cannot sleep at night or rest due to the pain. The doctor wrote an order and faxed it to the facility. (Her doctor has his own practice) I actually faxed the order to this establishment. I called and confirmed the order had been received. She went to that facility and they could not find the order. This person took her back and performed the X-Rays. I called the facility and ask them to fax a copy to her doctor that wrote the order. They stated they needed a faxed request to send the results. This facility gave me a wrong number at Penncock. I left a message at the facility to call me back that they were closed. I still have not gotten a return call to help me. I got on line a googled Penncock I obtained a number. When calling the medical record department they would not assist in anyway. The fax request needed to be from the ordering Doctor. I had ask if I could fax the request to send to the ordering doctor. Her words were "oh no we have a very long process to document in the patient file" it needs to be from the ordering Doctor. My comment was to her "If the process is so important then why is the result not sent to the ordering doctor in the first place." then I proceeded to say to her the this will effect business in this area if I need to I will drive her another 20 miles to make sure that a facility will do their jobs right.
